MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.

At Palrnerston yesterday the fol lowing appeals were heard : The appeal of T. H. B. Tallotfc, farmer, Glen Oroua, was dismissed, and leave was granted until June 18th.

The appeal of Robert M B. Simpson, farm manager, Raugiotu, was also dismissed, and louve granted till June ISth.

I P. J. Christensen, farmer, KimI bolton. Apoellmt stated that sinea he was last before the Board he had endeavoured to sell his property, and believed he could dispose ef it now to a returned soldier at £25 10s per acre. The price he usked previously was £37 10s per acre. He asked for leave until July Ist to complete the s-ile, in the event of the sale not eventuating he could lease his property. Further hearing of the appelti was adjourned until nest sitting of the Board. Montague S. J. Hanson, farmer,, Sanson. The appeal ln:d previously before the Board on April 30th, and appellant stated that conditions had not changed since then. Decision was reserved sine die, provided appellant remains in the same occupation.

Cyril Edward Carson, farmer, Etilis, appeared for Willium Daniel Uarsrn, his son. Ths Board asked him to curtail his leave to Msy 21. Appellant said he \vd chail' to cat and could not possibly jjefc th« work done in. that time . Leave till June 18.

Joseph Snler, farmer, Felldiug, asked for extension of 1> ave. He had sold two plisces, one of 700 acres and another of 500 acres, nnd wanted to 'leave enable him to lease a further 3000 acres . Leave till June 18.

Chirles Henry Managh, farmer, Halcombe had tried to get labour for his fsrrn by advertisement. He had engaged mm man, but he had gone into camp The place had turned off 2300 lambs lust year, 500 sheep and 18 or 20 bullocks. There had been 270 acres under crop, and he had harvested tho land under cerals with the assistance of the Oroua County's men. Decision re served.

Sergeant-Major B. N. S.'indilands, Feilding, on active service, asked for exemption on the ground that there was nobody to look after his father's estate's sheep stud farm at Feilding. He hnd h«d a manager on the farm, but he hod since baen called up for service. He had a brother 10 years of age, who was in Palestine. * Appellant had gone away with the Main Body and had returned in October lust. He had seen service on Gallipoli and in Palestine and hnd come back on leave. —'. Decision was reserved.
