TURAKINA NOTES.

Mr John Bissett, the evanglist of the Presbyterian Church; visited Turakina on Thursday afternoon and gave an address in the church. There was a fair attendance, wholistened with pleasure to Mr Bisset's fine address. Mr Bisset has been conducting or missioning in Wanganui, and is a fine type of an evanglist. Mr H. Foster gave an interesting lecture in the town hall on Friday evening, on the Farthest North. Th« lecture was illustrated by lantern views of the scenery north of Auckland, and the lecture and pi ctures combined gave a vivid idea of that little known part ef New Zealand, i'he hall was rilled. JMr Foster gave thirty shillings of the procesds to the school committee.

The weather has been changeable lately and colds are prevalent.
