Considerable damage has been done to works at‘Port Ahuriri. The Awahura and' Navua were unable to come alongside the breakwater. Seawater found its way into warehouses at the port, and huge waves are sending water over the seafront. Several small vessels have been knocked abdnt. Richardson and Co. ’a Echo has not been heard of since Friday, and there is some anxiety here as to its safety. It is hoped that she is sheltering off Cape Runaway.
