HIDING IN THE BSCKBLOCKS. Per Press Association. \ Wellington, March 4. John Harrison, alias Hott Smith Wilson, was charged at the PoliceCourt with failing to enrol ;i Q the Keserve and also with answering questions in a misleading manner. He pleaded guilty. The police said accused was single and a deliberate shirker. He „ had been working in the hackhlocks in order to evade service. Accused said he had kept out of the way because ho knew the military wanted him. He did not want to go to the front, hut was not afraid. He claimed to have come from Melbourne two 3 r ears ago. He was lined £5 on eacli of the two charges.
