HUNTERVILLE NOTES.

From Our Own Correspondent. Ideal weather prevailed for the Anglican Sunday school picnic, which wps held in Mr Bewick’s paddock on Wednesday afternoon. A largo nuniher of children attended, and spent an exceedingly happy time, playing games and. entering into the sports with zest. Ample refreshments were provided by the ladies, and the picnic proved to be a great success. The first euchre tournament of the season was held in the Anglican schoolroom on Thursday night, commencing at S'o’clocfc, and a pleasant time was spent by all present. Mrs Bishop succeeded in c-trnyng off the ladies, while the gentleman’s prize was woo by Mr Reuben Mackay. Supper was dispensed by the ladies, and the proceedings were brought to a close at about 11 o’clock. The town was quiet on Thursday, many residents having journeyed to Wanganui to aattend the races.
