SINKING OF THE ARAGON.
STORY OF A SURVIVOR. BRAVERY OF THE SOLDIERS. SINGING TO THEIR DEATH. Receive;! Feb. 1, noon. London, Jan. 31. First published story of the sinking of the Aragon from_ a nurse aboard says the vessel sailed from Marseilles under destroyer escort and sighted land at 10.40 on December the thirteenth. The Aragon was torpedoed half t.-nhour later. The nurses were sent away in the eirly boats and were ail ’saved. They'saw the Aragon settling deep by the stern nul the troops on the docK singing. Several boats wore soon on the spot after the ship wss sunk and picked up many. The .destroyer was torpedoed immediately afterwards, while picking up survivors from the water and hart hundreds of rescued troops aboard. The destroyer broke in halves. The nurse adds that the Osnninieh sauk in five minutes. She had forty nurses aboard and eight dead were brought ashore.
