At the Court martial to-day Major Lilly stated that there was uo-j application, on the filth from Colonel Turner for an increase to the guard at Motuilu. He took it that the responsibility for the gaurd lay with Turner and district headquarters. Witness claimed to have no control over Turner. The President: In the instruction to Turner it was stated lie must apply to District Headquarters for a requisition for a guard. In view of that would you be surprised to find a request for an increase in the guards on your file? Witness: Yes, I would.
