WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
The Wanganui Education Board met last night. Present: _ Messrs Pir«ii (chairman'), idemhu'way, Mclntyre and Broad.
A gr-nt of £3BO was red veil for a new schovl at Moturoi. The Chairman said the settlers were giving an acre for a site. It was decided thet the foreman proceed with the work.' The Department wrote, refusing to make a grant for additions to the Lytton Street School. It was decided to inform the school committee.
It was decided to ask the chief inspector, to report on proposed schools at Pourongaka, Manson and Clark’s Mill.
If the inspector's report is favourable, application will be made for additional accommodation at St. John’s Hill side school. A vote of £75 was made to the Campbell Street committee towards the cost of the section the baths are on.
A snnt of £9 w»s made to the Raurimu committee, ami £B(S to Owhakura. The following resignations wore received: —P. E. Watson, head teacher, Campbell Street; L. Pemberton, sole teicber, a wahon ; M. M. ; Perry, sole teacher, Mdcohau E. M. Potter, sole teacher, Ngamatopouri; A. Hadyu, sole teacher, Taoroa; A. A. Scott, assistant. South Makirikiri: M. C. Banks, pupil teacher, Lytton Street; Y. Seifert, pupil teacher, College Street; D. McLean, probationer, Durie Hill: G. S. Strack, special assistant, Patea D. H. S.
