UKRAINE PROCLAIMS INDEPENDENCE. DESIRES PEACE WITH ITS NEIGHBOURS. Petrograd, Jun. 27. Owing to the Maximalists arres - ting the leaders of the Polish organisation, Polish logionaircs have occupied several railtvay stations in tire Maghiloff district and disarmed the Russian garrisons. The Ukrainian Rada lias proclaimed the complete independence, of the Ukrainian Republic and declared that it desires friendship with Roumania, Turkey and the other neighbouring powers, and will support the cessation of the war.
