EXPORT OF APPLES.

THE SEASON’S GOOD CROP. (Per Preen Association.) Wellington, Jan. 25, A deputation of fruitgowers waited on the Prime Minister today with reference to obtaining facilities for the export of apples. The deputation stated that the crop was looking particularly well, better than for the past three years, and it was expected that there would be a surplus for export if shipping space was provided. Mr Massey said lie would communicate with the Imperial authorities and ascertain it there was a possibility of making arrangements for the surplus to be forwarded to the English market or any other available market. Regarding the question of increased railway freights the Premier said the Minister of Railways was indisposed, but when about again lie would confer with him on the subject.
