ANNUAL LABOUR CONFERENCE.
BIG GATHERING OF REPRESENTATIVES. IMPORTANT QUESTIONS TO BE DISCUSSED, London, Jan. 2?. The annual Labour Party Conference at Nottingham on the 28rd hist, will bo one of the most important in its history. A thousand delegates wall be present. The agenda includes a resolution to withdraw the Labour members from the Government and another demands an early election. A strong pro-war tone is assured. 'POSSIBILITY OF A GENERAL ELECTION. Received Jan. 24, 9 a.m. London, Jan. '23. Mr A. Henderson, addressing a conference of the Women’s Labour League, at Nottingham, sid he believed a general election would be held between July and September.
RAID ON PREMISES OF MISCHIEF MAKERS.
A TRAITOROUS LEAFLET SEIZED, Received Jan. 34, 9 a.m. Loudon, Jan. 23.' Sir George Cave, replying to Mr C. P. Trevelyan, said the police had raided the premises of the British Socialist Party and seized leaflets intended for distribution at tho Labour Conference fit Nottingham, containing the party’s views on Labour's policy and a message from Litvolf. The leaflet contaiiud statements calculated to lead to civil strife and gross misrepresentation of tho Government’s attitude towards the Russian people. The Government wss, therefore, considering tho advisability of a prosecution. He denied that any person claiming to represent a foreign ' Government was at liberty to engage in a propaganda in this country.
