ENEMY ATTACKS FUTILE.

ITALIANS HOLD THEIR OWN. (Received Tuesday, 10.17 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. An Italian official message says: There was artillery fighting all day between the Brenta and the Piavc, and stubborn infantry fighting at ColCarrile, whore superior forces forced back our counter offensive. Our reinforcements re-established the position to our advantage.

Our concentrated fire broke an attack at the lower e.nd of the Brenta and forced the enemy to retire in disorder.
