STOCK REPORTS. Loan and Mercantile report:—On Thursday we held onr annual Cattle Fair at Palmerston North. Although the entry was smaller than previous years the attendance was large and competition was keen throughout. Prices ruled on a par with onr Feilding Fair last week:—Small yearling steers £4, fair yearling steers £5 10s to £6 2s fid, 2yr empty heifers £6 11, 3yr speyed heifer £8 15s, 2yr Hereford steers £9, 3yr steers £l2, store cows £6 10s to £7, fair empty cows £7 10 to £B, fat heifers £9 18s Gel to £lO 4s, good forward cows £lO 4s to £lO 12s, fat cows £ll 4s, cows with calves £8 los.

Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report on their Palmerston North Cattle |Fair of the 19th inst. as below:—We had a yarding of 800 head of all classes, and effected a very good clearance at the following prices;—Mixed yearlings £3 Is to £3 16s, yearling heifers £4 9s 64 to £4 17s, grade Holstein yearling heifers £G 19s, small yearling steers £5 17s 6d, store cows £6 2s, empty cows_ £7 19s to £9 10 a , 2 year empty heifers £G Us to £7, light fat cows £lO 19s 6d, 3 year steers £ll 10s to £l2 17s, forward bullocks to £l4 14s. Sheep: Wether hogget 30s Id, mixed shorn 2ths 24s sd, 4th wethers 3Gs 4d, fat ewes 36s Gd, fat wethers £2.
