TURAKINA NOTES.
From Our Own Correspondent. We deeply regret to report the death from wounds of one of our young soldiers who went from Turakiua. Private William Rush. Before enlisting Mr Kush was in the employment of Mr H. Lethbridge, “Dalvey,” who highly appreciated his many good and sterling qualities. It is just a year ago since he entered camp with the Ninth Reinforcements. Since then he has kept up correspondence with friends and kept up bis interest in all that was taking place in Turakina. Pie was a member of the Bible Class and regular worshipper in the Presbyterian Church, always bright, cheery and helpful, and a favourite with everyone who knew him. He is the first of onr young men from Turakina to make the great sacrifice, but ' with a good young lad like him, death is the call to higher service in the better land.
