THE LAND TAXATION FORMS.
Sir J. G. Wilson having sent a telegram to Mr Massey pointing out to him the difficulty many farmers were having in completing their returns in time in respect to the new taxation, has received the following reply:—“Your telegram of yesterday has been received in regard to the new laud taxation forms. The matter has been receiying consideration and arrangements are being made to extend the time for their completion to 18th prox., and an advertisement to this effect will appear in the next issue of the Gazette. I think that this will afford a fair measure of relief.”
The Prime Minister stated yesterday that farmers had heeu granted extension of time for completion of forms in connection with the new income tax. The Laud and Income Tax Department had informed him that the date for return of the forms iiad been extended from December 4th to December 18th. In the meantime' advice and information are being supplied to any landowners who need assistance in making the required returns.
