ICE-BREAKING BY ARTILLERY. GERMAN BATTALION ENGULFED. Copenhagen, Nov. 2(5. The Russian artillery smashed the ice on the Styr while the enemy were crossing, and a battalion were drowned. CAPTURE OF A HEIGHT. PROGRESS AT LAKE SVBNTEN. ENEMY BEING PURSUED.
London, Nov. 26. Petrograd reports that the Russians captured a height at Beesemunde, taking prisoners, and made fresh progress at Lake Sventen. Near Semikovtze on the Strypa the enemy was attacked and pursued, many being killed. SOMETHING IN A NAME. '‘BECHSTEIN” MEANS GERMAN A LICENSE REFUSED. London, Nov. 26. The County Council refused to renew the music license of the Bechsteins Hall, a famous concert room, on the ground that it was an enemy concern! There are two Bochsteins in the German army.
