OROUA DRAINAGE BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Oroua Drainage Board was held yesterday afternoon : Present: Messrs H. H. Hunt (chairman), B. Gray and J. Gloyn. Mr O. E. Pedley attended and objected to bis land being classified as first class for rating purposes. H® was agreeable to it being put in the second class.

On the motion of Mr B. Gray, Mr Pedley’s 88 acres was classified as second class.

The clerk stated that the area of first class land was 268,569 acres, second class 64,745, and third class 30,394, making a total of 333,688 acres.

It was resolved that notice be given lo strike a general rate of Id on first class, '%& on second class* and %d on third class land, and to hold a special meeting on the 25th to confirm the motion.
