THE MARCONI INQUIRY.

Herbert Samuel testified that Imperial wireless negotiations did not originate with him and he did not communicate with Sir Rufus Isaacs from, first to last. Mr Oliver Locker Lampeson, M.P.. and Mr Peter Wright, who are shareholders in the Marconi Company, have issued a writ against Godfrey and Hurry Isaacs, Hey bourne, Marconi pirn! others, directors of the company, to i recover the difference between the j sale price and par value of .100,000 American Marconi shares. There is about a million sterling involved. The. Hon. Samuel gave evidence that the statement in the newspaper The Eye-Witness that he and Isaacs’ secretary- arranged that the public shonhhpay a large sum to the. Marconi Company was a wicked and childish falsehood. It was inconceivable oven if a Minister were wrong-bended and dishonest enough to enter into Mich a contract, inasmuch as six Government departments had to examine and approve the terms.
