AMUSEMENTS.

LYCEUM PICTURES. Thera was a good attendance at Martou Opera House, last nig tit. A very good and varied programme was gone through, and on the whole was much appreciated. One of the duet items, “With the Colours,” is of more than ordinary interest at the present time, for it deals with a military subject in which the attention of the British nation is deeply engrossed. It is a spectacular drama in which the military ardour and devotion are skilfully carried out. “When California was Young - ,” was a brilliant drama, depicting exciting incidents in the days when the gold fever was raging on the American coast. “Time Peril,” was also a strong dram The comics were well above t 1 usual subject generally shown. The scenics were pictures in thw - selves and well well worth the priceof admission.
