FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
BRIGHT FUTURE PREDICTED BY THE HON. MACKENZIE.
PRESENT CONDITIONS IN LONDON DOCKS MUST CEASE,
United Press Association—By Elm trie Telegraph—Copyright. London, May 8. The Hon. T. Mackenzie, speaking at the Cold Storage and Ice Association banquet, in responding to the toast of "The Dominions," reviewed the history of the meat trade. He said that when the trade was fonmled I whole sheep were rold in New Zealand at the price of a single pound in England. New Zealand had exported half the total mutton and Jamb received in Britain. The ! future for the producer would be f good because the increased demand would exceed the increased supply, though the Home production would be increased by 250,000 ton'?. The workers of" Europe would soon deI maart -wholesome meat at reasonable ! prices. The condition of meat I 'arriving had improved, but the | handling in -London had not. It was I absolutely impossible that the pre--I sent conditions should continue.
