SHEEP AILMENTS.

IMPORTANT TO FARMERS. } The existence of parasitic diseases in sheep is • always determined by finding the parasite or its eggs and there are certain symptoms from which one may infer that sheep are infected. The sheep owner who diacovers weakness among his sheep shonld not wait until one of them dies before he endeavours to make a diagnosis but shonld undertake to diagnose the disease in the earlier stage by sacrificing one or more of the worst affected, and thus gain time treating and preventing the extension of the disease. By waiting for the disease to develop he allows the sheep to grow poorer and weaker and when action is finally undertaken it is upon patients which are, in too many oases, too weak to stand vigorous treatment, and which can in no way profit by preventive measures as they should. It is ks the beginning of the disease that treatment by hygiene and medicine is needed and produces its bast resnlts. It will be seen from onr advertising columns that Mr 0. W. Langstone, who has been.before the farmers of New Zealand, Australia and She Argentine for 10 years, ig making a tonr through the district for the express purpose of proving to sheep farmers the benefit of dosing their sheep with a valuable remedy —Vermicide—by giving oonlar demonstration. Everywhere he baa performed instructive and interesting post- mortem examinations of sheep the information imparted always being of an educational character to farmers. He explains the oharaoteristica of the long and other worms in sheep, their effect upon the syg. tern of the sheep, their habitual and varying infineuoes. He then by ocnlar demonstration, exhibits where and how to find the worms and parasites so injuriously trench, ing upon the system of the animal. The splendid resnlts and the genuineness of his own manufactured Vermicide has been made known by ail farmers who have used it. A sheaf of testimonials, and these hove coma in from (she largest sheepowneta in New Zealand, no to show the marvellous extra growth of wool through the action of the Vermicide. Sheep farmers shonld ‘not lose the opportunity of obtaining the services of Mr Langstone 'under the sxoeptional conditions he offers. He is not like a man who is here to day and away to-morrow, but he is well known in both Islands for the treatment of stock and their diseases. The veterinary laboratory is in the oontinnation of High street, Marfon,
