LAWN TENNIS.
A match took place yesterday afternoon on the Marton courts between teams representing the Students’ Conference and the Marton Lawn Tennis Club. Some interesting games resulted. la the Ladies’ Singles Miss Boss lad G-l against Miss Reeve, who brought the score up to 4—6 before the former won the match. Smith, Seymour, Scott and Gibson a.ll sucoassful in their singles against the local men. One of the mosc interesting games was the combined doubles match, Smith and -Miss Reeve versus Ross and Miss Ross. The latter were leading 6—3, but Smith and Miss Reeve brought the game to 6 all. Ross and his partner won the next two games, but were beaten in the match by 98, The detailed results are as follows, the Students’ scores being placed first.
