Per. Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, June 13. gjThe return football match. New |South Wales v. Queensland, was played in wot weather, on sloppy ground. The N.S.W. team won by 11 to nil. Foxton Sub-Onion. ALBION v. SANDON. This game was decided at Sandon on Saturday, the weather conditions being unfavourable to a good display of football. Somo delay was caused by the appointed referee failing to put in an appearance. A good substitute was fouud iu Mr Sutherland, secretary of the Union, his decisions being prompt and were well received. Playing 35 minutes spells Albion kicked off against a stiff breeze and for a while they held their opponents safely. The Sandon forwards were making better scrums and the ball coming out to the backs allowed the latter to gain a great advantage iu kicking with the wind. After the first ten minutes the visitors wore continuously kept busy in keeping their line clear. " Several serviceable passing rushes among the Sandon hacks carried play very close to the visitors’ line. Towards the end of the spell Read got possession from a scrum on the lino and scored the first try. T. Richardson’s kick did not increase the score. Shortly after the kick out the Richardson brothers got away with a good dribbling rush, which ended in “Tar”, scoring. No goal resulted. The second" spell, saw Albion attacking, but the safe fielding and tackling of the opposing hacks prevented them getting iu. Time after time a promising rush ended in either a force down or a line out near the goal line. Several kicks were ~ given against the home forwards for off-, side play and from' one of these Robinson kicked a goal. The pressure was kept' up till the end of the game but no further score resulted. The game ended iu favour of Sandon’ by six points to three.

Tho following fixtures have been drawn up for Rangitikei Shield and cup fixtures: Wednesday, June 19th, Marton I. v. Bulls I. at Balls; Marton II v. Rata II ’at Rata; Ytcdnesday, June SGth, Huntcrvillo I. v. Marton lat Marton; Marton 111 v. Huuterville TH at Hunterville. The senior match Huias y. Taihapo was played at Taihape on Saturday and resulted in a win for Taihapo by 11 points to 5. Tho game was decidedly fast and it was the best match played in the Awarua Union this season. G. Tyler, of Auckland, has intimated to the selectors of the New Zealand team that he cannot make the Australian tour.
