FUNERAL OF HON. BOLT.

Per Press Association Dunedin, May 2.

The funeral of the Hon. W. M. Bolt, M.L.C., who died suddenly on Monday

evening on the journey from \\ aipori to Berwick, took placo this afternoon at Dunedin. The Eev. Wm. Saunders conducted tho service at the residence of deceased,- after which a largo cortege followed the coffin to the Northern Cemetery, where tho graveside service was also conducted by Mr Saunders. Besides relations of deceased tlxoro wore a large number present, including representatives of various public bodies and Government departments. A number of wreaths were received from Ministers and public bodies. The pall bearers were chosen from members of both Houses of Parliament and comprised Hons. G. Jenkinson, George Jones, J. 13. Callan, J. T. Paul, J. B. Sinclair, M.L.C.’s, and Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.B. Following in mourning coaches were tho Mayor Mr Loudon, the ex-Mayor, Mr G. Lawrence, City Councillors and Town Clerk, besides representatives of tbo City Corporation staff (of which one of Mr Bolt’s sons is a member), Messrs W.' Burnett and G. Esther (chairman and secretary respectively of tho Dunedin Drainage Board) Messrs T. K. Sidey and A. G. Barclay M.’sH.fi.
