ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER.

Per Press Association. Auckland, April 26. At the Police Court this morning, Edith Malzavd was charged with omitting to provide her child, Edith Mabel Malzard, with proper food and attention, thereby causing its death and thus committing the crime of manslaughter. Evidence was given that the child had died from marasmus duo to neglect, and it would probably have lived had it received proper care. The mother had been on a drinking bout and had been arrested on April 10th, nine days before the death of the child.

Accused reserved her defence and was committed for trial.
