Tho result of the' poll of the London Chamber of Commerce on 22nd March has now been announced. The figures were :—For preference and a tax on imports, 1077; against 472. The Tariff Commission has issued calculations illustrating the working of various schemes of British tariff preference on colonial produce. • Tho Times comments on the significance of the decision of tho London Chamber of Commorco, because tho Chamber lias been long undecided, and the poll was taken at the instance of the Freetraders. London, April 13. While tho Loudon Chamber of Commerce decided to inform Sir H. Campbell-Banner-man that the recent poll was largely favourable to protection, the free trade group insisted that lie be also informed that the poll only included 1549 votes out of 3200.
