DEATH OF MR. TRIBE. Mercer's death-roll was unfortunately added day last, when Mr Arthur Chanfc| Tribe passed away at his mothers residence. In the early part of last ■ week his condition was such that little hope of his recovery was entertained, but he lingered on until Sunday. The only son of the htfe Capt. H. A. Tribe, of Auckland, aWk Mrs E. A. Tribe, of Mercer, theTß deceased, who was 31 years of age, " had recently been acting as mmager of the Putaruru Sawmill Comjß|y. Previously he held the appointmlifc,* of secretary of the United Timber" Company, Mercer, and for the greater part of his life he was a resident of Mercer, only moving Frankton a year or so ago. ]&)&? where he was held in the Inchest respect, his ex f reme courtesy affability gaining him friends, although by a man of retiring disposilon. He was one of the original melhfaers of the Mercer Rowing Club, anffltaed in the first trial fours at many years ago, being also for some time secretary of the MercerJ&gatta Committee. In local he was always to the fore, and qhtil his departure from the filled the office of secretary of th\ Mercer Patriotic League, ife*** also an ex-member of thelSTeNw Town Board About six mofths ago he was married to Miss °[ Hamilton, by whom he is Mrs Tribe, sen., was one of ferera in Mercer/from the epidnnm and it was on%isitiog his m jthev during her illne%that the lab Mr* Tribe contracted % disease, from J which he has now stqgumbed. Tha. sympathy of the extsnded to the mother anawraßw in their sad bereavement. The funeral took place at Mercer yesteiday.
