OTAHUHU.
A memorial service in honour of the late Miss Janet Hancock was held in the Holy Trinity Church on Sunday morning last. The Rev. H. Mason conducted the service, and there was a large congregation, including the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs McDonald) and members o! the nursing staff of St. Mary's Home. The Vicar dealt in an able manner with the noble characteristics of the deceased lady, whom he declared conducted St. Mary's more in the way of a home than as an institution. He related several personal experiences of the Christian fortitude with which she had borne her troubles and trials, the culmination of which was to be seen in the efficiency of the Home to-day. He said that though she had passed away her influence would be a lasting inspiration for others to emulate her good work. At the conclusion of the service the "Dead March " was played by the organist (Mr A. J. White). In our last issue it was reported that the sale of work in connection with the Holy Trinity Church was arranged for the end of April. It now transpires that the function will take place at the latter end of February.
