PASSENGER STATION WANTED Settlers in the vicinity of the station recently constructed by the Railway Department between Paerata and Runciman, and known as Ivaraka siding, are agitating for the station to he made available for passenger and goods traffic. Reporting on the matter at last Thursday's meeting of the Franklin County Council the Engineer (Mr J. F. McArthur) state! that it had been proposed by settlers interested to give road access to this station The District Traflic Manager, however, advised that the station was only constructed as a crossing station and it was doubtful whether the Department would go to the expense of constructing buildings, etc , necessary for passenger and grods traffic.
