The following words, played to a well-known tune, ere said to be popular among the Highlanders on service in Europe and are sung to the skirl of the pipes:—
Dance, •.-ince ye're darning, William, Dance i:jj and doon ; Set t-i your partners. William — We'll piav tlio tunc! Sol 1 make a liois to Paris! Hero's A in'.vi rp toon . Oft to the Gulf of Riga Back to V< rdoon ; Aye, but I'm thinking, laddie, Y'j'll use your slioon. Dance, since ye're dan; in<r, William, Dance up and doon ; Set to your partners. William —■ We'll play the tun. 1 ! What? Wad ye stop the pipers? Nay tis over soon ! Dame since ye're dancing, William, Dame ye puir loon ! Dan. e till ye'iv dizzv, William! Dance till ye -woon : Dance tiil ye'r.' dead, my laddie — We'll play the tune!
