ON ACTIVE SERVICE.
So far as can be ascertained the following is a list of names of those who have left Waiuku district for active service:— Capt. J. Herrold H. Jackson Lieut. L'aeata L. Johnson A. McDonald E. Keardon R. Hammond W. Nash A. Class B. A. Dunsmuir I. Codlin W. J. Jolly Sergt.-Major Cobourne A. V. Cole F. Knight N. L. Learning M. J. O'Leary J. E. Furniss J. Eisenhut D. Adamson Sergt-Major Milne J. Crighton D. Sands L. E. Fowler A. Kobins T. L. Flavell W. V, Pulman i'. V. Oakclcn A. Holmes J. Allan W. Barnaby W. Williams E. Osborne C. McNaughten J. McNaughten D. Lister S. J. Carlyon Pearman H. C. Raynor There are also several others who claim Waiuku as their home, but who joined the King's forces in other centres, among families so represented being Messrs Pickaid, McDonald and Allan. Hali'-a-d: ze'n enrolments have been made in which the enthusiastic applicants failed to satisfy the miiltary conditions and regretfuly had to return, Several more applications have been catered at the local Defence Office, and the men are expected to shortly be advised to attend the training camp.
