MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Pukekohe. In the Magistrate's Court on Thursday (Mr E. Rawson, S.M.) judgment was given for plaintiffs: W. Roulston v. E. Bingham £1 19s (id; H. B. Free v. A. Dorricott, £l9 8s od.

A. Bennett was lined 5s and costs for drunkenness at Tuakau; and 10s and costs for obtaining liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. D. Clark was fined 10s and costs for being drunk whilst in charge of a horse. William Parrish, Richard Pilkington and Samuel.Murray, three residents of Puni, pleaded not guilty to two charges of furious driving along King Street and Manukau Eoad, Pukekohe on the night of August 23rd. Evidence for the prosecution showed that the accused drove up King Street in a g:g at a hand gallop, and an hour later drove down Manukau Road at a similar pace. The do fence was that the horse was a jibber and collar-proud and that in consequence accused urged the animal on. It was denied that there was any furious driving or that the animal was ever out of control. After hearing the evidence the Magistrate lined each of the accused £3 with 14s 8d costs

Waiuku. The Court sat on Friday. P. Flannigan pleaded guilty to being drunk and agreed to accept a prohibition order. Convicted and discharged. E. W. Smith pleaded guilty to having failed to attend military camp. Fined 40s and 17s costs.

M. A. Baistow v. J. Lockie, claim £5 os 10d for work not done as agreed, use of waggon and damage to chain. Thero was a couuter claim for £G 5s for fixing pipes and price of four calves. Judgment for Barstow for L2 ; iudgment for Lockie for L2 13s 7d. J. Haiiiling v. D. Totter, claim L 5 Under an agreement plaintiff had completed his half of a fence. Defendant commenced his half but then stopped, notifying the plaintiff he wanted a new fence throughout. The plaintiff declined to take his half down again and replace with a new fence. — His Worship hi'ggostod that counsel confer witli their clients which was done, judgment being entered up for the plaintiff with court costs '.»s and Ll (is solicitors' fees. J. W. Turmage v. J. Bent, claim for L 45 upon a milking contract. —Struck out.
