Mr Reg Russell secured a Massowa—My Ship bay colt at guineas, and Mr R. E. Allen a brown colt by Defaulter—Victorious at 190 guineas. My Ship is a 13-year-old mare by Iliad from Princess Argosy. Victorious is a six-year-old mare by Nightmarch—Hinerawe (Robespierre from the good race mare Oratrix, from Oratress). This youngster is bred to stay and might turn out a real bargain.
