WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
PLTARURU MEETING At the July meeting of the Pntnrurn Women's Institute, held recently, the president, Mrs. 11. J. Stewart, presided over a good attendance of members and was very capably assisted by the secretary, Mrs. K. Bergquist. After the minutes of the previous meeting had been read and confirmed, and all general business discussed,/ Mrs. J. Shaw rendered two solos, which were greatly appreciated. A demonstration of interest to all, the making of arrow darts and tailored buttonholes, was then given by airs. S. Smith.
The monthly competition was won by Mrs. A. Appelgren. Other competitions resulted: Sewing, Mrs. A. Anderson: cooking, Mrs. A. Appelgren: best bloom, Mrs. K. J- Wood.
A very pleasant afternoon came to a close with the serving - of an enjoyable afternoon tea by the hostesses. Mcsclames A. Sehisclika and S. Smith. The hostesses for next month are to be Mesdames H. Sayers and Steele.
