WAIKATO HUNT
PUTARURU MEET Successful Event The fourth meet of the season was held last week on the properties of Messrs. E. D. White, G. W. Harris, Green, J. B. Le Quosne and E. Speake, .and proved to be one of the most successful, meets of the season. A large following of well equipped riders turned out in good although threatening weather. The luck held, however, and the threatening rain di<l not eventuate. Morning tea, through the usual generosity of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. White, was served .at their residence, where the meet assembled. Prior to their moving off a comprehensive! .photograph was taken of the followers in these picturesque surroundings. The hounds worked back towards Mr. E. Speake’s property, where a hare, which afterwards led a long run back towards Mr. White’s farm, was put up. However, this hare was lost in the scrub off the road. Lator in the afternoon another hare was scented on Mr. G. W. Harris’ property, but after a short run hounds made a kill. An enjoyable afternoon tea was appreciated by the vary hungry riders at the finish of the day’s hunting.
