TRAGIC MOTOR ACCIDENT

TRUCK DRIVER KILLED Several Passengers Injured Mr. Ralph Albert Stevens, aged 2*5. single, a driver employed by the Public Works Department, Mangakino. was killed instantly when a truck on the hack of which he* had 'been riding, went over a hank at Mangakino on Sunday night. Mr. Robert Stevens, aged 40, uncle of Mr. Ralph Stevens, and* employed at Mangakino as a labourer. was admitted to the Waikato Hospital suffering from internal injuries. Several other passengers received minor injuries. The truck, which was loaded with furniture and general stores, and is owned by H. L. Martin, Ltd., Putaruru, was travelling towards the No. 2 Public Works camp on the main road at Mangakino, when it overturned down a 10ft 'bank. An inquest was opened before the coroner, Mr. A. C. Anderson, and after evidence of identification had been taken, was adjourned sine die.
