FISHING WITHOUT LICENSE

FINE IMPOSED J. Doibson was charged before Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., at Putaruru, on Monday, with fishing- in the Little Waipa River without being the holder of a license. He was further charged with using illegal bait.

Mr. J. R. O. Lochhead, appearing for the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, stated that a ranger, ranging the district mainly for pre-sea-son shooting, came across defendant fishing at the Little Waipa River. A fine of £2, 12s costs, 18s 6d ranger’s expenses and £2 2s- solicitor’s fee was imposed on the first charge, and a fine of £3, 10s costs' and £2 2s solicitor’s fee on the second.
