CHEAPER MONEY ADVOCATED

TOR BUILDING HOSPITALS Matamata County Council Support iMlaJtamalta County Council is to forward- a remit to the Counties’ Conference that money for the erection of hospitals should be issued by the Reserve Bank on the same low terms as was done for State houses. Cr. J. Pohlen, who introduced the subject, stated that if hospital boards could obtain money on the same terms- as those provided for State houses, it would make a vast difference to the financial position of the boards. Cr. E. D. White (chairman) agreed, but pointed out that such an issue could be extended to county councils for bridges. Cr. Pohlen agreed, but urged that if the motion was left as it was, he thought it would go through with almost unanimous support. The suggestion was approved, and it was also decided that the engineer, Mr. M. E. Fitzgerald, also attend the conference as it had been suggested that technical officers should be present.
