A COLUMN FOR THE PEOPLE

(To the Editor) Sir, —Continuously we hear the slogan, “Save Food for Britain,” yet how often lately have we had to waste food because of the thoughtlessness of our Power Board. The only cuts 1 have seen advertised in the local paper are the nightly 9.45 p.m. to 2 a.m. shut downs. But what of the numerous daily cuts that va-y frequently. In the last week the power cuts have changed again, and caused not only extreme inconvenience but also considerable waste of food. Other power boards advertise their cuts; so why could ours net do the same ? . Surely the price we pay for our electricity warrants just a little though for the HARASSED HOUSEWIFE.
