PutaruruMiss McCarroll has returned from a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland. Miss Coupe left for Auckland yesterday. Mrs. V. Pearce is staying with her mother, Mrs. Tucker, in Otahuhu. Miss Stevens, formerly of Putaruru, spent a week-end here. Miss Stevens is now teaching at Mamaku. Mrs. C. G. Alcom spent a weekend in Putaruru, and has now gone on to Rotorua. Mrs. A. Hollingshead is spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Wheeler. Rev. John Nixon, of New Plymouth, spent the week-end with his daughters, Mrs. Tulloch and Mrs. Shine. Rev. A. E. Jefferson and his wife were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Vosper during their short stay ip Putaruru. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Hutton and daughters have returned from tnoir holiday spent in Palmerston North, The journey was done by motor car.

Jackson, Park street, is on a holiday visit to Pukekohe. Mrs. J. M. Allen, Piako, is on holiday at Auckland. Miss V. Howarth has been on a short visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Wood have returned from a holiday at Gisborne. Mrs. Hooper, Gisborne, is visiting Mrs. C. S. Wood, Alexandra avenue. Mrs. F. A. Hanan, of Omahu, has been on a short visit to her mother, Mrs. I. Dewes, George street. Mr. and Mrs. E. Massey, Allen street, have returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. T. Martin, Studholme street, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. M. Maclean and small daughter have been on holiday at Hamilton. Mrs. W. Rutland, of Moorhouse street, has returned from a visit to Tauranga. Mrs. T. J. Ryan, Studholme street, has returned from a holiday visit to Auckland. Miss C. Pole, who has been visiting her home, Studholme street, has returned to Dannevirke. Mrs. A. Grier, who has been staying with Mrs. A. Carter, Mangateparu, has returned to Auckland. Mrs. W. T. Smith and children have returned from a visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. L. Legg, Drury, have been staying with Mrs. J. Henderson, Motumaoho. Miss A. Rutland has returned from a holiday at Devonport, Auckland. Mrs. N. E. Lehmann, Mangateparu, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. H. Manuel and family, Motumaoho, have returned from a holiday at Auckland. Mrs. Aitken, who has been on an extended visit to Mrs. C. F. Hart, Maukoro, has returned to Duned ; n.
Mrs. E. S. Hanan and Miss E. Hanan, Coronation road, have returned from a visit to Auckland. Miss B. Strand, of Coronation road, has left for Auckland, where she has joined the nursing staff of the Public Hospital. Mrs. A. Bailey and children, who have been staying with Mrs. B. O’Brien, Kereone road, have left for Auckland. Mrs. J. Rutherford, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs. M. C. Robison, Tauhei, has returned home to Tuakau, Miss Price, who has been the guest of Mrs. H. Blennerhassett, Thames street, has returned to Thames. Miss Chapman, Masterton, and Miss Chapman, Cambridge, are staying with Mrs. B. Chapman, Moorhoiise street. Matamnta. Misses M. Tims and R. Leadbeater have returned from a holiday spent in Auckland. Mr. Leslie Newman returned to Auckland on Thursday after spending a short holiday as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. O. Heerdegen, Broadway, Matamata. Mrs; W. C. Ring, of Hinuera, left for Hamilton on Friday prior to sailing for Sydney by the Monterey at the end, of this week. Miss C Ring, of Hinuera, will accompany her mother. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. L. MacDonald and Miss Jean MacDonald are spending a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland.
