MATAMATA BRANCH. The February meeting was held at “Penrhos,” the residence of Mrs. K. E. Buchanan, of Tower road, on Tuesday. Delightful weather and beautiful grounds made the meeting, which took the form of a garden party after the brief business was finished, a very enjoyable one. About fifty members and their friends were present.
Mrs. R. W. Stevens, vice-president, took the chair, and voiced the feeling of the meeting in welcoming Mrs. G. G. Bell, president, who had undergone a serious illness and who was present again after making a good
recovery. Correspondence was dealt with. A sub-committee, Mesdames L. Flower, M. Loveridge, A. Dobson, H. Stone and A. Crowther, was appointed to [ tnke charge of the arrangements for the holding of a Matamata Women’s Institute display at the Waikato Winter Show. Musical honours were accorded to Mrs. Stevens and her mother, Mrs. Cotterill.
Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames K. Buchanan, Stevens, L. Flower, R. K. Montague and H. E.
