METHODIST CHURCH.

LOCAL APPOINTMENTS. At the recent Methodist conference held in Auckland Rev. H. Ashworth, of Rawene, was appointed to take charge of the Putaruru circuit in succession to Rev. C. W. Brown, who is transferred to Oxford in the North Canterbury district. Rev. Ashworth has had a successful ministry in some of the most difficult stations in the North Island, and is a talented musician, while Mrs. Ashworth is a trained singer. It is expected that Rev. C. W. Brown will close his ministry on March 27 and that Rev. Ashworth will arrive by the middle of April. There will also be a change in the Matamata circuit, where Rev. R. E. Fordyce, who has been transferred to Blenheim, will be succeeded by Rev. F. G. Brown, of Wairoa, Hawke’s Bav.
