The following correspondence was read : From Education Board, re capitation. From Mr Barnett, resigning his seat on the committee.—lt wag decided to accept the resignation, and Mr A. Eddie was unanimously elected to fill tho vacancy. Mr Barnett reported having visited the school and found everything satisfactory, The attendance was smaller than usual owing to sickness. The master's report was read, showing average attendance for the mouth 26. Several items in the report were left for the secretary (Mr Cooper) to deal with. INFLUENZA. Influenza is very prevalent. Iu many cases whole families are down with it. This being the dairy fanners' busy season, sickness of any sort becomes very trying where there is so much work that cannot be neglected. BUTTER. One hundred butter boxes have arrived for the use of settlers who wish to dispose of their butter to Mr H. Chester. These boxes look very neat, and should be a groat saving in space, previously necessary for the stowing of kegs. The first shipment of butter is to be sent away on Tuesday next via Woodville. SHEEP BRIDGE. Settlers begin to wonder what lias become of tbe much talked of sheep bridge. Does the Engineer after having annhilated the 11 promoter” in his report intend to treat the bridge in future with silent contempt ? We aro not told in the report how the bridge is progressing. We at any rate can understand by that report that wo have no right to complain, however much the causo. Can’t settlors bo satisfied that tboy have the honor to provide the money for tliese works ?
