The firing for the Champion Rifle Belt was concluded ou Saturday at Dunedin, P.O. Williams, of Wellington, securing the much coveted prize. The following are the fourteen highest scorers : P.O. Williams, Wellington 453 Seaman France, Wellington ... 461 Gunner Taylor, Auckland 449 Lieutenant White, Auckland ... 448 Lieutenant Okey, Taranaki ... 436 Lieutenant Cook, Waitahuna ... 433 Private Ballinger, Wellington ... 432 Sergeant Jonee, Waikari 431 Bombadier Dougherty, Auckland ... 430 Sergeant Kay. Oainaru 429 Captain Proudfoot, Dunedin ... 428 Gunner Driver, Port Chalmers ... 428 Lieutenant Davey, Petone ... ... 428 Private Foster, Christchurch ... 428 The tour last fire off for positions, the three highest to be included in the prize list.
The prizes are—lst, Champion Belt, Gold Star, and T6O; 2nd, Silver Star and T4O ; 3rd, Silver Star and T3O; 4th, 120; 6th, T 10; and eight of T 6 each. These amounts do not represent the whole of the money won, prizes being awarded in every match. Tne above are the aggregate prize*.
