4 Clerks’ Union has been formed with 5P members. It will file demands at an
early date for a week of 39 hours; 2s 6d an hour overtime irrespective of age or experience; wages from 15s a week for youths of 16 years to 65s a week for men over 23 years; women to receive the same wages as men; juniors not to exceed a ratio of one to three seniors. TIMARU WATERSIDE WORKERS. Timaru, Nov. 18. TheTimaru Waterside Workes’ Union invite the shipping agents to confer before the 25th inst. on the new agreement re wages, hours, and other conditions. They ask Is 9d and 2s 6d an hour overtime (6 to 10 p.m.) for ordinary stevedoring work, 2s and 3s for manure, and coal work, after 10 p.m. overtime 3s 6d to the number; of a gang for different work to be specified, and' straight-out preference on tpo usual conditions.
