Fatality at a Show.

Whangarei, Nov. 18. A tragic incident brought people’s day at the Whangarei A. and P. show to an abrupt close. At four o’clock Polly Weaver, the fifteen-year-old daughter of Mr Harry Weaver, ex-Mayor, was killed almost instantly when taking part in the event for lady riders over hurdles. • The horse struck the top of a hurdle, turned a somersault, and fell with the girl directly underneath. All the other events and the judges* supper were abandoned.
