SYDNEY STOCK SALES.

Sydney. January 21. At the stock sales at Homebush to-day there were only fair supplies. Some good lines from New Zealand brought improved values. Best crossbred wethers fetched 16s to 16s 6d, good 14s to 15s, medium 11s; best ewes 15s, good to 14s, medium 10s 6d. Cattle were dearer, prime being scarce. Best bullocks brought £l3 15s, extra £l4 2s 6d, good . £l2, medium £8 10s; best cows £lO extra £ll, good £8 ss, 'medium £7. Best beef sold at 34 s to B7s 6d per 1001 b.

LONDON WOOL SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, are in receipt of the following cable from their London office, under date 21st January:— “Wool—The sales opened to-day. Prices are from par to 5 per cent, higher for prime greasy crossbred and merino, and about to 10 per cent, higher for medium greasy and scoured crossbred and crossbred slipe. The market is active.”
