Twelve Years’ Experience.
TO THE EDITOR. Sm,—Mr Hursthouse in every one of his speeches trots out a long boast of his past experience, but on every occasion he stops short and leaves us in happy ignorance as to what he ever did for the colony or the constituency he represented. For twelve long years his constituents gave him their confidence, being a young man they overlooked his instability, they allowed him once to forego his former election pledges, but on the second occasion they preferred the services of Old Jack Kerr as Mr Hursthouse familiarly calls him. Where are the deeds of past experience ? At the present election he declared for Nelson City, but, becoming frightened, he again changed his mind. Sir, he is shifty, no one knows, not even his leader, how he will jump. I am, &c., One Who Once Supported Him. Wakefield, Nov. 17, 1890.
