COUNTRY WEDDING

KNIGHT—GOMM KAITAEATAHI RECEPTION (Herald Correspondent.) The Waerenga-a-hika Parish Church was -the scene of a wedding on Wednesday, when Edith Maud, only-daugh-ter of Mr. W. J. Gomm and the late Mrs. Gomm, was married to Ernest Albert, eldest -son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Knight. The bride wore a classically cut gown of white satin, the bodice being cut heart-shaped and shirred down the front. The sleeves were long and tight-fitting, coming to a point at the wrists. The lull flared skirt ended in a slight train. The bride wore a beautifully hand-embroidered veil held in place with, orange blos-soms. Her bouquet consisted of white roses and asparagus fern, While satin shoes and silk -stockings completed a charming toilette. The bridesmaids were Miss L. Sutherland, Gisborne, and Miss S. Swiiggs, Hastings. They wore frocks of ice blue seif-patterned taffeta cut on -graceful -princess lines with headdresses of ice -blue plaited bandeaux. They carried bouquets of mixed (lowers. Th-c bridegroom was attended by Mr. J. Knight as -best man, and Mr. G. Gomm as groomsman.

A reception was held afterwards in the K-aitaratabi Hall, where the guests were received by Mrs. W. Morris, a close friend of the bride, wearing a model frock of black with touches of white, and a hat to matc-h, and Mrs. E. A. Knight, wearing a brown ensemble with touches of white on the bodice. Her brown -leghorn hat had a tiny spray of -mixed flowers. Both the hostesses carried bouquets of mauve asters and- pink roses, intermingled with fern. The wedding -breakfast was partaken of by a large number of gue-ste. Pride of place was- given to a' beautifully iced- ItiW-o-tiered wedding cake,, while over the bride’s table hung- a large white belli. The evening was .-spent in dancing, while a song was -given by Mrs. Morris and an Irish jig by Miss S. Swii-g-gs.

The happy couple received a large number of costly and useful presents. They left later for a honeymoon in the country.

The bridegroom presented end bridesmaid with a -pearl necklace.
