SUCCESSFUL JUMBLE SALE USEFUL SUM RAISED (Herald Correspondent.) A very successful jumble sale organised by the Tc Kakara Girl Guide Committee was held in the Parish Hall. Te Karaka, last Thursday afternoon. The effort was well supported by tlte public and as a result the committee has in hand a useful sum for expenditure on Girl Guide and orownie activities. The stall-holders were:—Produce, Mesdames J, McKenzie and F. Hobbs; jumble, Misg L. Ruru; cakes, Mrs. J. D. Hodgson. Much-appreciated assistance was given also by Mesdames J. G. Appleton, F. M. Clayton, and T. L. Earnshaw.
At a meeting of the Te Karaka,District High School Old Students’ Association held last week it was decided to hold the annual bail on Wednesday, May 10. The association is sparing no effort to make the function the success it lias been in previous years. Arrangements have been made for Mrs. Thomson’s orchestra to provide the. music. Miss Edna Castles, Kanakanaia, has been the guest of Mrs. S. Hodges, Paritu.
